San Francisco, CA
Sips & Bites on the Bay is a two hour wine tasting experience paired with savory tastes aboard Franklin D. Roosevelt's historic presidential yacht, the USS Potomac. Cruises depart from San Francisco's Ferry Building and sail on San Francisco Bay most Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings from April through early November.
Guests are transported back to an era of epicurean elegance and sophistication, while enjoying fine wine paired with seasonal California cuisine—all against a backdrop of spectacular scenery and the landmarks of San Francisco Bay.
Foggy Bridge winemaker Daryl Groom selects each wine served onboard from notable California winegrowing regions, including Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Livermore Valley and the Central Coast. “Bites” are prepared by Left Bank, the Bay Area's premier French brasserie, and are designed to complement the wines. Wine and food pairings rotate frequently to reflect local, seasonal ingredients.
Guests are invited to sip as many as six different wines during the two hour walk-around tasting experience, while exploring Franklin D. Roosevelt's radio room, bedrooms and envisioning his weekend retreat from daily White House demands.
