San Francisco, CA
The only urban winery located in a United States National Park, Foggy Bridge Winery is positioned to be a landmark destination in the historic Presidio of San Francisco. Situated in the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge along Crissy Field, Foggy Bridge Winery will offer an authentic San Francisco wine experience and serve as a gateway to California's winegrowing regions.
Scheduled to open in Summer 2008, Foggy Bridge will provide an avant-garde wine, food and educational experience. The winery will offer a portfolio of wines produced from its own vineyard in the San Francisco Bay appellation, as well as wines created collaboratively by Foggy Bridge winemaker Daryl Groom and partner wineries from premier growing regions across California and the globe.
Incorporating both a winery open to the public and its "Sips & Bites on the Bay" wine tasting cruises, Foggy Bridge seeks to bring a comprehensive wine, food and educational experience to the residents of San Francisco. Foggy Bridge Winery will be a place to hang out, enjoy the views of the Presidio, the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge and relax after either a long week or a morning run.
Locals and visitors alike will be able to taste wines from various California appellations, learn why Pinot Noir prefers fog and how organic grapes are grown, cruise along the San Francisco Bay on a Saturday afternoon, and grab a bottle of wine, cheese and baguette at the cafe before heading out for a picnic at Crissy Field. Sponsorship of concerts, charity events and other special events are also on the horizon.
